In the last gravel World Championship, Samuel Sánchez won gold after triumphing in the wonderful route that was designed through the region of Veneto, Italy. A demanding course that put the runners and their bikes to the test, where the X-Tour emerged victorious to be crowned Master 45 World Champion.
MMR wanted to pay tribute to their global ambassador, who added another title to his sports career. A unique bicycle that he will showcase in his upcoming gravel races, with its debut at the Castellón Gravel Race on May 11th in Llucena.
Where design is born
Jorge Fernández, designer of the brand, worked on the execution of the design together with Muse Bikes, a Spanish company with which MMR regularly collaborates on these special customization projects.
“For this specific customization, a metallic white base was used on the front to the black candy finish on the back. This finish makes the black brighter, the visual effect is that of a very deep colour. It allows two tones as distant as black and white can coexist in the same design”.
Customization with two points of view
When looking at the bicycle, we see a light design, with neutral colours and a great brand presence, adding the MMR logo on the front as the main novelty. However, if we look at the whole thing from the back, we see a more colourful design, with a striking gradient on the inside of the frame that continues along the back of the fork.
The design includes the official UCI graphic as "Master World Champion" on the fork, which differs from the classic rainbow and which in this finish alternates the 5 horizontal bands with white stripes.
It also includes the personal brand of Samuel Sánchez (S8S) and a reference to the place where he won the title, in Veneto, Italy. Other details such as the seat post finished in white or the choice of a handlebar tape with coloured dots complete this customization.
The assembly in detail
The X-Tour WC is not only a detailed customized frame, but also a complete luxury of details. With a Shimano Dura-Ace R9250 DI2 12v transmission, components from FSA such as the K-Wing AGX handlebar and the K-Force Light seat post, the Vision Metron 45 SL wheels complete the set to make it one of the gravel bikes most desired this season.
