The most important stage race in Spain returns to the Caja Rural-Seguros RGA calendar. The green team will compete in the 90th edition of La Vuelta Ciclista a España, a race that will take place between August 23 and September 14, linking Turin and Madrid.
The team returns to one of the most important stage races on the world calendar, after earning a well-deserved invitation for finishing the 2024 season as the best national Pro Team, both in terms of number of victories and classification within the UCI ranking.
A balanced and combative lineup featuring a blend of youth, experience, and ambition. The squad will be led by Uruguayan Thomas Silva and will feature versatile riders like Barceló, capable of excelling on different terrains. The presence of young talent Abel Balderstone, as the reigning Spanish ITT Champion, promises active participation in the mountains and in the breakaways. With this selection, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA will seek to take center stage every day and make their mark on the Spanish tour.
With a stellar participation and highlighting finishes such as El Angliru, La Farrapona, Alto del Morredero and the grand finale at the Bola del Mundo on the penultimate day, key stages of a Vuelta that will once again finish in Madrid.
THE STAGES IN ASTURIAS
The 2025 Vuelta a España will experience one of its most decisive chapters in Asturias, with three consecutive stages. Stage 13, between Cabezón de la Sal and the dreaded Altu de L’Angliru, will be the longest stage of this edition and one of the toughest. Between Avilés and Alto de la Farrapona, stage 14 will be shorter but equally demanding, with mountainous terrain from the start and the climb to Alto de San Lorenzo as a prelude to a finish that promises battles between the leaders.
The third stage of this foray into Asturian territory, stage 15, will depart for the first time from Vegadeo, on the border with Galicia, a town steeped in natural and historical heritage. This unprecedented outing will be the prelude to a new day of excitement, with landscapes that combine both ruggedness and beauty.
